Allred: Sessions Turned His Back On Women Time and Again

(Richardson, TX) – Colin Allred, civil rights attorney and candidate for Texas' 32nd congressional district, released the following statement regarding the 24th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act, which is up for reauthorization in 2018:

“Congressman Sessions has turned his back on women time and again over his more than 20-years in Washington, including voting against bipartisan legislation that would protect victims of domestic abuse. And now, instead of pushing his party to reauthorize this vital legislation, he’s off fundraising with Speaker Ryan to save his political career. That’s what’s wrong with Washington and it’s the opposite of how I’d serve this community in Congress.”
