Today’s vote to proceed to repeal the Affordable Care Act is a direct threat to millions of Americans. Families across the country rely on the Affordable Care Act for health care, and any version of the Senate’s bill jeopardizes health care for Americans everywhere. The versions that we’ve seen all cut Medicaid, slash protections for patients with preexisting conditions, and prioritize the wealthiest few over women, low-income families, communities of color, and people living with disabilities.
Senate Republicans don’t even know what version of this bill they’ll be voting on, but passage of any iteration would be devastating for families here in TX-32, including 324,000 North Texans with pre-existing conditions. Congressional Republicans and Pete Sessions have been working constantly to repeal the Affordable Care Act and endanger the care of so many people here in North Texas. We must stay vigilant in our opposition and continue to work to expand coverage for thousands of North Texans who still lack health insurance.
