Congressman Pete Sessions Refuses to Protect North Texans With Pre-Existing Conditions

Updated: Sep 23, 2018

(Richardson, TX) – Today, Pete Sessions and his colleagues will continue their attack on our healthcare system and present oral arguments in their lawsuit to undo protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Throughout this lawsuit, Congressman Pete Sessions has refused to stand up to this administration and allowed them to gut the desperately needed protections for North Texans with pre-existing conditions.

“Congressman Sessions has recklessly undermined our healthcare system by voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act which put in place coverage protections for pre-existing conditions and voting for the AHCA, which would have gutted the progress made under the ACA. Sessions has refused to protect North Texans and instead sided with the special interests who are funding his campaign,” said Colin Allred, civil rights attorney and candidate for Texas' 32nd congressional district.

“Our healthcare is already too expensive, and in a state with the highest rate of uninsured people in the country, Congressman Sessions is making the problem worse. North Texans need a representative who will fight to lower healthcare costs, expand coverage, and protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.”

Additionally, Colin Allred released the following videos on Facebook

and Twitter. In the 32nd Congressional District, 42,800 children and 50% of the non-elderly population have a pre-existing condition.
