DALLAS -- Congressman Colin Allred today called on Genevieve Collins to take down her ads with false claims after Collins admitted in a debate with NBC DFW that her claims were not true.
Collins has falsely claimed that Allred supported raising taxes on small businesses during the pandemic. After being challenged by Allred to back up her claims — she admitted that was false.
According to the Dallas Morning News: “...Collins acknowledged that Allred has not supported a tax increase during the shutdown...”
Allred has been endorsed by the Dallas Morning News and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his bipartisan record, including leading the fight to establish a new VA hospital in Garland and helping pass the USMCA trade deal, which will support thousands of jobs in North Texas.
Statement from Allred:
“North Texans deserve the truth and Ms. Collins has repeatedly lied and misled folks about my record.
“Now that she has admitted her claims are false, she should take down her ads immediately and stop misleading voters.
“My record is clear. I have worked hard to pass small business relief and help North Texans during this pandemic.”
