Rep. Allred Statement on Re-election to the 32nd District
DALLAS -- Congressman Colin Allred released the following statement after media organizations projected he has won his race for re-election in the 32nd District:
“This is a victory for North Texas and everyone who believes that if we put our values first, and work hard to deliver results, anything is possible.
“I would like to thank my opponent Genevieve Collins for running a spirited campaign, and for agreeing to debate the issues that matter to North Texans.
“It has been the honor of my life to represent the 32nd District, where I was born and raised, and I am honored to continue to serve this community. The reality of what our nation faces is daunting.
“It will be a long and hard fight to beat this virus. But when Americans work together, we can overcome anything and do great things for this nation. The hard work starts now and we must begin the process of healing and rebuilding our institutions.
“We need to beat this virus and have a real, national strategy so we can reopen our economy safely. We need to lower the cost of health care and prescription drugs and increase access across the board.
“And we need to invest in our transportation system and clean energy jobs, root out corruption and ensure our government works for the people, not special interests.
“Finally, I want to most importantly thank my wife Aly. I want to thank the staff, volunteers and so many others who made this victory possible. Thank you for all you do, and will continue to do for our community in North Texas.”
